Dutch authorities have busted a large-scale drug smuggling case, seizing over 4 tons of cocaine.
Dutch customs officials recently seized 4882 bags of cocaine weighing over 4 tons during a routine inspection. These drugs were discovered during a routine inspection of two containers shipped from Ecuador, with the Netherlands being the final destination of the shipment. Customs officials noticed abnormalities in the containers during the scanning process. After monitoring, the containers were eventually delivered to a company in Moerdijk, North Brabant province on January 22. Three individuals were detained on January 22 in connection with the case. Two of them have been released, while a 52-year-old man from Sliedrecht has appeared in court for questioning by a preliminary judge and will continue to be detained for at least 14 days.
