State Council Taiwan Affairs Office: Promoting normal exchanges of personnel between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait is the common aspiration of our compatriots on both sides.
The State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office held a routine press conference. In response to questions about the resumption of cross-strait tourism, spokesperson Zhang Han stated that promoting normal exchanges of personnel and regular exchanges in various fields is the common aspiration and urgent desire of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. We have consistently supported exchanges and cooperation in various fields, including the tourism industry, between the two sides of the strait. The crux and obstacles of cross-strait tourism issues lie in the obstruction and sabotage of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities. The DPP authorities ignore the desires and needs of the Taiwanese tourism industry and people to improve their livelihoods and enhance exchanges and cooperation, using untenable reasons to obstruct and hinder cross-strait tourism and exchanges in various fields, which will only lead to greater dissatisfaction and loss of popular support.
