In 2025, the iron ore production in Vale reached the highest level since the mining dam collapse disaster in 2019.
The steel raw material production of Vale in 2025 exceeded any period since the critical mine area restrictions caused by the tailings dam disaster in late 2019 - with an ore production of 336.1 million tons, closely approaching the historical high record set in 2018. The company's iron ore production in the fourth quarter was 90.4 million tons, driven by production increases in some mines in southeastern Brazil, surpassing the level of the same period last year. Despite concerns about oversupply in the market, Vale will maintain its production guidance for the full year of 2026 between 335 million and 345 million tons.
