Thai gold traders with annual turnover exceeding one hundred billion baht must report to the central bank.
According to the Thai government announcement, Thai gold traders with an average annual trading volume of at least 10 billion baht over the past five years must report their business activities to the Bank of Thailand. The announcement also states that these gold traders must keep transaction records for at least three years. This move is part of the efforts made by the Bank of Thailand to curb the rapid appreciation of the Thai baht. The central bank stated that gold trading is one of the reasons driving the appreciation of the Thai baht.
