Against the background of rapid development of information technology, digital office work is becoming increasingly popular. Printers, as essential office equipment for government agencies, have significantly improved the efficiency of document processing and information flow. However, their intelligent and networked characteristics also bring some security risks that need to be paid attention to. The "operating system" of a printer is its core component, but it may also become an important gateway for network intrusion. Firstly, there is the risk of system vulnerability attacks. Attackers can exploit security vulnerabilities in printer systems that they discover through network scanning to gain direct control of the printer. Secondly, there is the risk of lurking backdoors. Printers may be implanted with backdoor programs during the supply chain process or firmware upgrades, allowing attackers to establish a covert channel, remotely steal print contents, monitor network traffic, or laterally penetrate other devices within the same network using the printer as a base.
