Journalists learned from the press conference held by the National Health Commission on January 26 that in recent years, China has actively promoted the improvement of national health through traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), conducting TCM health promotion activities and providing TCM health services for key populations such as youth, women, and the elderly. Data from the conference showed that China has strengthened the construction of pediatric departments in TCM hospitals, achieving full coverage of pediatric departments in tertiary public TCM hospitals nationwide, and conducting TCM intervention trials for children and adolescents with nearsightedness, obesity, and scoliosis. China is also promoting the establishment of prenatal and postnatal clinics in TCM hospitals at or above the secondary level, and strengthening the construction of geriatrics departments in TCM hospitals, with each province conducting trials for 128 TCM health centers for the elderly to enhance the level of regional TCM health services for the elderly.
