Thailand conducts comprehensive screening of flights from Nipah virus risk areas.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand announced that starting from January 26, all flights from West Bengal, India will undergo comprehensive screenings to prevent the entry of Nipah virus into Thailand. The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand stated in a declaration on the 25th that the screening will be implemented from midnight on the 26th and will be adjusted according to the situation. Currently, the screenings include: airlines conducting preliminary screenings at departure points in West Bengal, India. If passengers show symptoms that require testing, they will be required to provide relevant documents before departure and follow public health guidelines during the flight; upon arrival in Thailand, all passengers from the region must undergo temperature checks and fill out health declaration forms. Screening points will be set up in the jet bridge area at the airport upon arrival of the flight.
