Full of futuristic feeling, UAE's driverless commercialization is accelerating comprehensively.
In recent days, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, officially launched public autonomous commercial operations. The service first started on Yas Island and plans to gradually expand to other areas of Abu Dhabi. Autonomous driving has the potential to improve road safety, reduce traffic accidents, optimize traffic flow, and enhance travel efficiency, making it a core element of future intelligent transportation development. Abu Dhabi's goal is to have 25% of all trips in the region completed by autonomous driving by 2040. Dubai, unwilling to fall behind, recently issued the first autonomous driving test permit and opened the first local autonomous integrated operation base on the same day, providing a solid foundation for the comprehensive implementation of autonomous driving. Dubai stated that the opening of the base is part of its "2030 Smart City Strategy," one of the goals of which is to convert 25% of all trips in the city to autonomous driving mode by 2030.
