President of the World Economic Forum: Opportunity lies in crisis, and the growth momentum has quietly shifted gears.
World Economic Forum President Brende: We are facing the most challenging geopolitical situation since the end of the Cold War. At the same time, people had expected this geopolitical situation to have a more serious impact on global growth, but in reality, the global economy has shown strong resilience. We believe that cutting-edge technologies, represented by artificial intelligence, are driving growth. In the past, trade was the engine of growth. Now, while trade is still important, new technologies have become the driving force of growth. Therefore, our assessment is that the likelihood of a large-scale war or escalation of conflict is low, but if it does happen, the consequences will be extremely serious. This is also the reason why we must strive to avoid such a situation.
