The Central African Economic and Monetary Community calls for enhancing the economic governance capacity of its member countries.
Leaders of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) member countries held a special summit in the capital of the Republic of Congo, Brazzaville, on the 22nd, calling for measures to enhance the economic governance capabilities of member countries. Chairman of the CEMAC Commission, Baltasar Engonga Edjo'o, said in a statement after the meeting that in the context of declining budget revenues, worsening public deficits, increased pressure to repay external debts, member countries need to take measures to improve governance capabilities, and macroeconomic policies of the CEMAC also need to be adjusted accordingly.
