Report shows: Development of chain catering industry shifts from scale-first to quality and efficiency-first.

The fast report on the operation of chain catering business in 2025 released by the China Chain Operation Association recently showed that the overall number of chain catering enterprises surveyed in 2025 is still growing, while the industry development is gradually shifting from focusing on scale to paying more attention to quality and efficiency. The report pointed out that more than 40% of the surveyed enterprises mentioned that when planning to expand their stores in 2026, they will expand cautiously, and opening new stores will be based on stricter site selection evaluations, clearer single store profit models, and cash flow considerations. More than 30% of the surveyed enterprises plan to shift their strategic focus from external expansion to internal optimization, improving the operational efficiency and profitability of their existing stores.
