Hong Kong-based hedge fund Gen2 Partners Ltd. is seeking over $137 million in damages from three Samsung financial companies. A copy of the lawsuit shows that Gen2 Funds filed a claim against Samsung Securities, Samsung Hedge Asset Management Co., and Samsung Securities in the Hong Kong High Court this week. The lawsuit involves a contract dispute triggered by market volatility during the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, a Gen2 fund suspended redemptions to protect investors and the fund's own interests.
