Santander Bank plans to enable more investment bankers to use WhatsApp.

According to informed sources, Spanish foreign banks are planning to expand the use of instant messaging app WhatsApp among their employees. Some employees had previously complained that the current partial ban policy was having a negative impact on their operations. The informed sources stated that the largest bank in Spain plans to allow a small group of investment banking staff, including some employees from Latin American regions, to communicate through this messaging tool. These sources also indicated that some employees had already internally reported that the ban was making it difficult for them to maintain smooth contact with customers.
