Germany Commercial Bank CEO: Customers are cautious in the Greenland dispute, but have not heard of any intention to sell US Treasury bonds.
Bettina Orlopp, CEO of Deutsche Bank, said that as tensions between the US and Europe over US President Donald Trump's bid to take over Greenland escalate, the bank's clients are cautious. Orlopp said, "People are cautious, but they are also thinking about how to make things happen. For example, how to make operations more local and how to reduce dependence." Orlopp stated that she has not heard from any clients calling Deutsche Bank bankers asking to sell all of their US Treasuries. She said, "We should not forget that the US is a very attractive and large market, and there are also many strong connections between Germany, Europe, and the US."
