OpenAI will bear the energy costs of the "Stargate" project on its own.

On January 20th local time, OpenAI announced that after one year of the announcement of the "Stargate" project, they plan to expand the United States' artificial intelligence infrastructure to 10 gigawatts by 2029. OpenAI stated that they have already exceeded half of the target in terms of planning capacity, with the first batch of sites in Texas already starting training and providing services, while multiple "Stargate" sites in Texas, New Mexico, Wisconsin, and Michigan are still in development. OpenAI also stated that in all "Stargate" community plans, they promise to bear the energy costs themselves to ensure that the project's operation will not raise electricity prices.
