Ministry of Commerce: Total retail sales of consumer goods will exceed 50 trillion yuan by 2025, and the advantage of a super large-scale market will continue to be evident.

In 2025, the year of the conclusion of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan", the commercial authorities at all levels will deeply implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, vigorously promote the special action to boost consumption, actively implement the trade-in old for new policy for consumer goods, build the "Buy in China" brand, and continue to unleash the consumption potential. The total retail sales of consumer goods in society reached 50.1 trillion yuan, a growth of 3.7%. Among them, the retail sales of goods increased by 3.8%, and catering revenue increased by 3.2%. The final consumption expenditure contributed 52% to economic growth, continuously playing a key role as the main engine of economic development. During the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the total retail sales of consumer goods successively reached new levels of 40 trillion yuan, 45 trillion yuan, and 50 trillion yuan, providing strong support for promoting sustained economic recovery and better meeting the people's needs for a better life.
