According to reports from multiple media outlets, a prison in northeastern Syria where members of the extremist organization "Islamic State" are being detained experienced a jailbreak on the 19th. The Syrian interim government stated on the 20th that approximately 120 people escaped, but the "Syrian Democratic Forces" led by Kurdish forces claimed that the number of escapees was as many as 1500. The Syrian interim government and the "Syrian Democratic Forces" had just reached a new ceasefire agreement on the 18th, but there were signs of it being broken the following day. According to the Associated Press, there was a clash on the 19th between the Syrian interim government forces and Kurdish fighters around two prisons in northeastern Syria where "Islamic State" members are held, one located in Hasakeh province and the other near the city of Raqqa.
