Major European stock indices closed lower.

The European Stoxx 600 index fell by 1.23%, the European Stoxx index fell by 1.49%, and the Eurozone blue-chip stock index fell by 1.72%. The French CAC 40 index fell by 1.9%, the Spanish IBEX index fell by 0.27%, the UK FTSE 100 index fell by 0.44%, and the German DAX index fell by 1.33%.
