On January 19th at 19:32, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, with a depth of 10 kilometers. The Ministry of Water Resources immediately activated the water conservancy earthquake relief dispatch and command mechanism, held a special consultation meeting to analyze the impact of the earthquake on water conservancy projects and rural water supply, assessed the rainfall situation in the earthquake-stricken area, and arranged the deployment of water conservancy earthquake relief work. Based on the analysis of the national "Water Resources Map", the Ministry of Water Resources promptly investigated the distribution of rivers, reservoirs, hydropower stations, embankments, water gates, rural water supply projects, and hydrological stations in the earthquake-stricken area, and timely reported to the Yunnan Provincial Department of Water Resources, urging local water conservancy departments to comprehensively assess the damage to water conservancy projects. Currently, the water situation in the earthquake-stricken area is stable, with no precipitation expected in the next 3 days.
