By 2025, Shenzhen has nearly 7,000 foreign-funded enterprises with import and export records, reaching a new high in nearly 8 years.
On the afternoon of January 19th, the Information Office of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government held a press conference on the import and export situation of Guangdong in 2025. At the conference, Liang Danhong, deputy director of Shenzhen Customs, stated that Shenzhen, as an important window for China's opening-up to the outside world, has attracted a large number of foreign-funded enterprises to invest and expand production in Shenzhen by continuously optimizing the business environment, providing important support for stabilizing and improving the quality of import and export of foreign-funded enterprises in the province. According to customs statistics, in 2025, there were nearly 7,000 foreign-funded enterprises in Shenzhen with import and export records, reaching a new high in nearly 8 years. The number of enterprises accounted for over 30% of the total in the province, ranking first in Guangdong and third among mainland cities. The total import and export volume reached 1.29 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.6%, accounting for over 40% of the total import and export value of foreign-funded enterprises in the province, contributing to over 80% of the increase in import and export of foreign-funded enterprises in the province.
