National Bureau of Statistics: Overall expansion of the service industry remains stable, market expectations are gradually improving.

Peng Yongtao, director of the Service Industry Survey Center of the National Bureau of Statistics, wrote that in 2025, the average annual value of the business activity index in the service industry will be 50.1%, higher than the critical point, indicating a continued expansion trend in the service industry. In terms of industries, the business activity index in industries such as postal services, telecommunications, radio and television broadcasting, satellite transmission services, and monetary and financial services is in the high prosperity range of above 55.0% on average, with business volume maintaining rapid growth. The business activity index for capital market services has also increased significantly on average. Market expectations show that the business activity expectation index for the service industry in December is 56.4%, up 0.5 percentage points from November, indicating increased confidence of service industry enterprises in market development. In the next stage, it is necessary to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 19th and 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, and further enhance policy implementation efficiency to accelerate the cultivation and growth of new productive forces in the service industry, fully stimulate the vitality of market players, and consolidate and expand the positive trend of the service industry towards a new era of development.
