Recently, the customs at the Haikou New Port Joint Law Enforcement Team seized a group in the New Port area who were assisting their boss in purchasing 112 branded belts from Hainan's duty-free stores for illegal profit, with a value of approximately 426,000 yuan. Currently, the customs have taken legal action against this group. The customs reminds that according to the "Regulations on Supervision of Duty-free Shopping by Tourists to Hainan Offshore Islands" of the People's Republic of China Customs, organizing or using others to purchase duty-free goods for illegal profit constitutes a violation of customs regulations or smuggling. Those involved will be dealt with by the customs in accordance with relevant provisions of the "Customs Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Regulations on the Implementation of Administrative Penalties by the Customs of the People's Republic of China"; if a crime is committed, criminal responsibility will be investigated according to law.
