Artificial intelligence startup Thinking Machines is facing a talent drain crisis.
For Thinking Machines, the current situation is extremely embarrassing. According to insiders, this week on Wednesday, the artificial intelligence startup held a company-wide meeting, where CEO Mira Murati announced the dismissal of co-founder and CTO Barret Zoph, citing poor performance and contacts with competitors. The insiders also mentioned that during the meeting, two other researchers Luke Metz and Sam Schoenholz caused another uproar by posting their resignations on the company's Slack collaboration platform. By Thursday, two more employees at the Intelligent Machines Lab, researchers Lia Guy and Ian O'Connell, informed their colleagues that they would also be resigning. Out of the five employees who resigned, four have chosen to join OpenAI.
