Recently, reporters learned through interviews that in the past three years, seizing the major opportunities of implementing the "hundreds of millions of engineering" initiative, Baoshan and Chenghai have broken through geographical barriers and built a new collaborative model of "Chenghai manufacturing, Shenzhen empowering", revitalizing the traditional toy industry. Chenghai holds an important position in the global toy market. It is the most complete and largest production and trade base in the domestic toy industry, with products exported to more than 120 countries and regions. On average, one out of every three people is engaged in the toy industry. However, behind the production capacity advantage, shortcomings in design creativity, brand operation, etc. have become bottlenecks for industry upgrading. "Chenghai's advantage lies in manufacturing and a complete toy industry chain; as an industrial area of Shenzhen, Baoshan's strengths lie in innovation, market, talent, and resource allocation capabilities." Su Jianzhong, member of the Standing Committee and deputy district mayor of Chenghai District, Shantou City, and leader of the Shenzhen counterpart assistance work team stationed in Chenghai District, introduced that since the two places established a counterpart assistance partnership in 2023, they have been exploring deep collaborative paths. In April 2024, the Baoshan-Chenghai Industrial Collaboration Development Base, with a total area of 3200 square meters, was inaugurated and operated, pre-positioning Chenghai's most urgently needed design, brand, and market resources in the forefront of Shenzhen.
