The Syrian military has begun shelling positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces in eastern Aleppo.

On the evening of the 16th local time, the Syrian interim government military authorities announced that the military had begun shelling the positions of the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces in the town of Deir Hafer in eastern Aleppo. The Syrian Democratic Forces stated that the Syrian government forces continued to intensively shell the town of Deir Hafer, and currently shells have landed in several residential areas of the town.
