CATL Yibin Base is rated as a "sustainable" lighthouse by the Global Lighthouse Network.
On January 16th, it was announced that CATL's Yibin base has been recognized as a "sustainable" lighthouse by the World Economic Forum's Global Lighthouse Network, becoming the first "sustainable" lighthouse in the global lithium battery industry, and also the only dual-certified lighthouse in the industry with both production efficiency and sustainability. By deploying AI-driven energy management systems, building photovoltaic storage microgrids, and promoting innovation in production processes and low-carbon product design, the base has reduced its carbon footprint by 56% and has influenced 13 core suppliers to achieve carbon neutrality certification. The Global Lighthouse Network is a partnership between the World Economic Forum and the management consulting firm McKinsey, selecting factories that represent the industry benchmark for Industry 4.0 and sustainable development. Prior to this, CATL had three bases recognized as "production efficiency" lighthouses. With this new "sustainable" lighthouse certification, CATL now holds the title of having the most lighthouse factories in the global lithium battery industry.
