Tesla granted 5-week extension in investigation of fully automated driving traffic violations in the United States.
The American car safety regulatory agency has approved Tesla's request for a five-week extension to respond to its investigation into whether Tesla's vehicles violate traffic rules when the company's fully autonomous driving system is activated. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Friday that it has extended the deadline for Tesla to provide key responses until February 23, after Tesla requested more time to manually review thousands of records to determine potentially relevant incidents. This investigation is part of the federal review of Tesla's driver assistance technology, as regulators are looking into claims that vehicles using FSD are violating traffic rules.
