In 2025, the cargo throughput of the Ganjiang Port exceeded 100 million tons for the first time.
According to information from the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Transportation, by 2025, the total annual cargo throughput of the ports along the Gan River will reach 1.19 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 20.9%, surpassing 1 billion tons for the first time and setting a new historical record. As of now, the total length of the high-grade navigation channel in the Gan River has reached 572 kilometers, and the number of production berths of 1,000 tons or more has increased to 120, with the annual designed throughput capacity of the ports increased to 1.13 billion tons. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, shipping construction projects have effectively improved the overall navigational capacity of the Gan River. In the future, investment will continue to be increased to promote key projects such as the second channel lock of the Gan River Longtou Mountain Hub and the upgrading project of the secondary navigation channel from Xingan to Nanchang, enhancing the efficiency of Jiangxi's bulk goods long-distance transportation system and further increasing port throughput. It is estimated that by 2026, the total annual cargo throughput of the ports along the Gan River will increase by 10% from the 2025 level.
