Thirteen provinces and cities will pilot the integrity management system for pressure-bearing special equipment in chemical enterprises.
Today, reporters learned that the State Administration for Market Regulation recently issued a notice to conduct pilot projects on the integrity management of pressure-bearing special equipment in 21 heavyweight chemical enterprises with certain management foundations in 13 provinces and cities including Tianjin, Liaoning, Shanghai, and Jiangsu. This aims to explore new approaches for the scientific supervision of high-risk special equipment. Pressure-bearing special equipment mainly includes pressure vessels, pressure pipelines, etc., which are widely used in chemical enterprises and are the "heart" and "blood vessels" of industrial production. Currently, China has over 6.08 million pressure vessels and over 1.19 million kilometers of pressure pipelines, among which 1.54 million pressure vessels and 250,000 kilometers of pressure pipelines are used by 2.5 million chemical enterprises. Due to harsh operating environments such as high temperature and high pressure, pressure-bearing special equipment is prone to leaks, fires, explosions, and other accidents, directly affecting the safety of people's lives and property, as well as having an impact on economic development. Therefore, it is a key focus of safety supervision by governments around the world.
