It is reported that the nationwide operation area of Baidu's subsidiary Luobo Kuaipao has quietly landed in about 20 cities, including Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Jiangmen, just in Guangdong Province. According to a query on the online approval supervision platform for investment projects in Guangdong Province, Luobo Kuaipao has filed multiple projects since late November last year, including the smart connected car road testing and demonstration application projects in Jiangmen and Dongguan, with total investments of 50 million and 70 million yuan respectively. In Jiangmen, they plan to deploy no less than 90 smart connected cars to carry out smart connected car testing and demonstration work; in Dongguan, they plan to purchase 1,000 self-driving vehicles to establish the Luobo Kuaipao self-driving base, including a smart connected monitoring command center, and the Greater Bay Area's "Cloud Car" center. In addition, the project of Luobo Kuaipao's South China operating headquarters has also been approved, with total estimated investment of 18 million yuan in Shunde, Foshan. The project is planned to be built as a demonstration project headquarters for unmanned driving ride-sharing cars based on intelligent algorithms and vehicle-road collaborative technology, and it also includes research and learning, exhibition hall, 5G cloud warehouse, office area, and maintenance workshop facilities.
