On the morning of January 14th, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission Zhou Haibing met with Chief Executive of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry Melnikov at the commission to exchange views on the economic situation in China and Germany, actively promote bilateral investment cooperation, and China's further expansion of high-level opening up to the outside world. Zhou Haibing stated that the recommendations of the "14th Five-Year Plan" not only provide a strategic blueprint and top-level design for China's economic and social development in the next five years, but also offer a "list of opportunities" to the world. China will firmly expand high-level opening up to the outside world, deepen the implementation of the strategy to expand domestic demand, accelerate the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. German companies are welcomed and encouraged to continue deepening their presence in the Chinese market, expanding cooperation with China, enhancing the level of cooperation, and sharing the dividends of China's development. Melnikov stated that the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry actively supports the sustainable and steady development of Sino-German economic relations and is willing to further strengthen communication, deepen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Germany, and achieve common development.
