87 years ago, the predictions of quantum mechanics were confirmed, providing key experimental evidence for the search for light dark matter particles.
A joint research team led by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences has, for the first time, directly observed the Migdal effect in the collision process between neutrons and atomic nuclei in experiments. This not only confirms the quantum mechanical prediction made 87 years ago, but also provides a crucial experimental basis for searching for lighter dark matter particles in the universe. The related research findings were published on the 15th in the journal "Nature".
