According to the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources, a robotic device developed independently by the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey Bureau, has successfully completed its trial operations in the South China Sea and has become the first device in China capable of three-dimensional drilling and monitoring in underwater strata.
