Break new records and strive for excellence! In 2025, China's foreign trade import and export will demonstrate five major characteristics.
According to customs statistics, China's foreign trade import and export will reach 45.47 trillion yuan in 2025, an increase of 3.8%. Among them, exports will reach 26.99 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.1%; imports will reach 18.48 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.5%. Specifically, there are the following 5 characteristics:
First, the scale reaches a new high. The total value of imports and exports for the whole year exceeds 45 trillion yuan, reaching a new historical high. China will continue to maintain its position as the world's largest trading nation.
Second, the market is more diverse. China has trade relations with more than 240 countries and regions, with imports and exports from more than 190 countries and regions growing. Trade with countries participating in the "Belt and Road" Initiative reached 23.6 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.3%, accounting for 51.9% of the total import and export value. Imports and exports to ASEAN, Latin America, and Africa reached 7.55 trillion yuan, 3.93 trillion yuan, and 2.49 trillion yuan respectively, with growth rates of 8%, 6.5%, and 18.4%.
Third, exports are shifting to new directions and improving in quality. China's exports of high-tech products reached 5.25 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.2%. The export of "new three items" and green products such as wind turbines increased by 27.1% and 48.7% respectively. The export of domestic brand products increased by 12.9%, accounting for 1.4 percentage points more of the total export value.
Fourth, imports continue to grow. Despite falling international market prices, China's imports have continued to grow for three consecutive quarters starting from the second quarter. Imports of mechanical and electrical products reached 7.41 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.7%, with imports of electronic components and computer parts increasing by 9.7% and 20% respectively. Imports of commodities such as crude oil and metal ores increased by 4.4% and 5.2% respectively. Imports of consumer goods such as dried and fresh fruits and edible plant oils increased by 5.6% and 16.6% respectively.
Fifth, business vitality is stronger. China has over 780,000 trading entities with import and export records. Among them, private enterprises continue to play the role of the "main engine" of foreign trade, with imports and exports reaching 26.04 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.1%, accounting for 57.3% of the total import and export value.
