According to Hainan Daily, it was reported that the trading volume of "green electricity + green certificates" in Hainan Province in 2025 reached 14.727 billion kilowatt-hours, exceeding 10 billion kilowatt-hours for the first time, and growing by 8.9 times compared to the trading volume of 1.488 billion kilowatt-hours in 2024. Currently, Hainan's green certificate trading covers several provinces and regions such as Beijing, Guangdong, and Jiangsu. The person in charge of Hainan Power Trading Center stated that with the support of policies from the Hainan Free Trade Port, they will continue to expand the registration and trading volume of renewable energy power generation entities, research and explore the trading pathways for distributed power sources to independently participate or aggregate in the market, deepen the synergy mechanism between green certificates and carbon markets, optimize trading models such as "certificate-electricity integration", and help build a new electricity market mechanism with the characteristics of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
