On January 13th local time, the World Health Organization stated that due to the armed conflict in Sudan, approximately 33.7 million people in Sudan will require humanitarian assistance this year, with around 13.6 million people displaced, constituting the largest displacement crisis in the world. The World Health Organization pointed out that the conflict has severely damaged the healthcare system in Sudan, with over one-third of healthcare facilities currently unable to operate normally. Cholera, dengue fever, malaria, measles, and other infectious diseases are spreading in many parts of the country, making the public health situation severe. The WHO called for an immediate ceasefire from all conflicting parties, effectively protecting the lives of civilians, including medical personnel, humanitarian workers, and patients, and providing safe and unhindered access to humanitarian aid.
