Huaihua, Hunan reported that a company's emission of foul odors has caused disturbances to the residents: a joint investigation team has been established.

The Ecology and Environment Bureau of the High-tech Zone Sub-bureau of Huaihua City in Hunan Province reported on January 13th: On the evening of January 12th, some residents reported that the emission of odor from Hunan JunTai Bio-based New Material Technology Co., Ltd. was disturbing. Our bureau immediately sent staff to the scene. After preliminary investigation, it was found that on the evening of the 12th, around 9 pm, a production workshop of the company malfunctioned due to a condensate water pump, causing the condensate water to overflow from the observation port at the top of the collection pool to the factory's sewage ditch, resulting in unorganized emission of odor. After the incident, our bureau worked with the company's technical personnel to promptly repair the faulty equipment and completed the disposal of the condensate water collection around 10 pm that night. Due to the high concentration of condensate water that is volatile and irritating, the air in the urban area was affected for a short period of time. Currently, Huaihua City has set up a joint investigation team to further investigate and handle the situation.
