Pakistan makes a preliminary ruling affirming the anti-dumping duty on Chinese purified terephthalic acid
Recently, the National Tariff Commission of Pakistan issued the latest announcement on case ADC70, making an affirmative preliminary ruling on the anti-dumping investigation of p-toluenedicarboxylic acid originating from China. It has been preliminarily decided to impose temporary anti-dumping duties on the products involved. The tax rate for the manufacturer Zhuhai Yingli Chemical Co., Ltd. and its exporter Yingli Chemicals Aromatics Asia Ltd.- Hong Kong is 2.63%, while the tax rate for the exporter Zhejiang Dushan Energy Co., Ltd. and other Chinese producers/exporters is 9.50%. The measures will take effect from the date of the announcement and will be valid for four months. The Pakistani tariff code for the products involved is 2917.3610. The measures do not include p-toluenedicarboxylic acid used only as raw materials for products exported from Pakistan, as well as the p-toluenedicarboxylic acid required for foreign aid donations and other tariff exemption projects. The final ruling is expected to be made within 180 days from the date of the preliminary ruling announcement.
