At the State Council press conference held today, officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs introduced that in the field of agriculture and rural development, China will promote the management of agricultural waste by popularizing thicker and high-strength plastic film, scientifically promoting the return of straw to the fields and other means. Yang Ru, the person in charge of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, stated that China will strengthen guidance on the scientific use of plastic film, vigorously promote thicker and high-strength plastic film as well as fully biodegradable plastic film, and strengthen the recycling of pesticide packaging waste according to local conditions. China will continue to promote the utilization of livestock and poultry manure, scientifically advance the return of straw to the fields, and speed up the breakthrough of key technological bottlenecks such as the scientific return of livestock and poultry manure, rapid decomposition and maturation of straw under low-temperature conditions, and new materials and techniques for plastic film. It will strengthen the integration of mature technologies, products, and equipment, provide classification guidance and training, and accelerate the development of comprehensive solutions suitable for different regions. It is understood that in recent years, China has been continuously promoting the utilization of livestock and poultry manure, agricultural straw, and other resources. Currently, the comprehensive utilization rate of livestock and poultry manure in the country has reached 80.1%, the comprehensive utilization rate of straw remains stable at over 88%, the disposal rate of agricultural film exceeds 85%, and the recycling rate of pesticide packaging waste is over 80%.
