On January 12th, Meta Platforms Inc., owned by Mark Zuckerberg, appointed Dina Powell McCormick, who previously served as a top advisor to former U.S. President Trump, to a newly created senior management position focused on establishing partnerships with governments and investors in the field of artificial intelligence. Several hours later, Meta's CEO Zuckerberg announced in another statement the promotion of executives Santosh Janardhan and Daniel Gross to lead a top internal initiative called "Meta Compute." This project will oversee the global data center group of the company, vendor partnerships, and other business modeling needed for building AI infrastructure for the next decade.
