Some believe it meets the needs of people living alone, while others question the name as being "unlucky" and suggest changing it to "Are you alive?" Also, they criticize the app for being too expensive with a single function for 8 yuan. On January 11th, Mr. Lu, the founder of the app developer Xuejing Technology Services Company, told reporters that the inspiration for the name came from internet users. He said, "I don't think 'Are You Dead Yet?' sounds bad, it reminds us to cherish the present moment." He mentioned that the initial cost was less than 1,500 yuan, and the current download volume is about 300 times more than before. The main source of profit is from user purchases, and they plan to increase the price to 14 or 15 yuan. "We are also considering financing, the amount is about 500,000 US dollars."
