Google partners with Walmart and other retailers to expand AI-powered shopping features.
The US Google company announced on the 11th that it will collaborate with large retailers such as Walmart to expand the shopping functions of its "Gemini" artificial intelligence model, and promote the Gemini application from being a "smart assistant" to a "virtual merchant" that can directly complete transactions. It is reported that the Gemini application will introduce "instant checkout" function, allowing consumers to complete product purchases from some merchants within the chat interface without opening interfaces outside of the application. John Furner, president and CEO-elect of Walmart, stated that the shift from traditional web or app searches to "intelligence-led commerce" represents the next important evolution of the retail industry.
