Cyberspace Administration of China solicits opinions on personal information collection in apps: Apps need to specify methods for users to withdraw consent.
The Cyberspace Administration of China has drafted the "Provisions on the Collection and Use of Personal Information by Internet Applications" and is now soliciting opinions from the public. The draft for soliciting opinions points out: When collecting and using personal information, individuals should be fully informed of the rules for collection and use, and obtain the consent of the individual information subject; When collecting and using sensitive personal information, separate consent of the individual information subject should be obtained; If the internet application provides personal information to third parties, separate consent of the user should be obtained; Internet applications should provide a one-click access function for personal information collection and use rules in a conspicuous position such as the settings page, making it convenient for users to view and save; Internet applications should clearly and comprehensively list in understandable language the methods and ways for users to view, copy, transfer, correct, supplement, delete, restrict the processing of personal information, as well as cancel accounts, and withdraw consent; When manufacturers of smart terminals accept applications for pre-installation of internet applications, they should register and verify the real identity and contact information of the operator of the internet application. Internet applications that do not provide the above information or provide false information, do not have personal information collection and use rules, do not have account cancellation function, or delete the pathway of personal information, should not be pre-installed.
