Fubon Bank has hired industry veteran Danny McCarthy to oversee its credit department in the capital markets business. The department is one of the largest revenue sources in Fubon Bank's trading business. According to an internal memo on Monday, McCarthy will officially take on the role of Head of Credit Sales and Trading on January 6. In his new position, McCarthy will be responsible for overseeing the operations of investment-grade and high-yield bonds, institutional loans, credit derivatives, and default credit. The credit business is part of the Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange and Commodities department (FICC), which accounted for over 75% of the bank's market business revenue in the third quarter of last year.
