Question: On December 27th, Cambodia and Thailand signed a ceasefire joint declaration at a special meeting of the Border Committee. Does China have any comments on this?
China welcomes the signing of the ceasefire joint declaration by Cambodia and Thailand, which shows that dialogue and negotiation are effective ways to resolve complex disputes. China, ASEAN, and the international community have made joint efforts in this regard. China is willing to continue providing a platform and creating conditions for more comprehensive and specific communication between Cambodia and Thailand.
Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi will hold a meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn and Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai in Yunnan on December 28th to 29th. Representatives from the three countries' military will also attend. China will play a constructive role in consolidating the ceasefire, restoring mutual communication, rebuilding political mutual trust, improving relations, and maintaining regional peace in its own way.
