The United Aviation Manufacturing Company, a subsidiary of the Russian State Technology Group, reported on December 27th that the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency has issued a type approval certificate for the Tu-214 aircraft to the aircraft manufacturer. The Tu-214 has thus become Russia's first approved civil aircraft to complete full import substitution. At the certificate issuance ceremony, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Alihanov stated that the domestically produced airborne collision avoidance system and terrain warning system equipped on this aircraft have successfully broken the previous global monopoly dominated by a single foreign company. According to the plan, the annual production of the Tu-214 is expected to increase to 20 aircraft by the end of 2027. In February this year, Alihanov had stated that the first batch of Tu-214 aircraft is planned to be delivered for use by 2025.
