Saudi-led coalition in Yemen: Necessary measures have been taken to de-escalate the situation and protect civilians.

On December 27 local time, Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki, spokesman for the joint forces of the multinational coalition supporting the Yemeni government, stated that the joint forces have taken necessary measures and will continue to do so to protect the safety of civilians in Hadhramaut province. Maliki stated that recent military actions by armed groups affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council in Hadhramaut province have been accompanied by serious humanitarian violations. The joint forces emphasized that any military actions that violate current efforts to de-escalate the situation will be immediately addressed, with measures aimed at protecting civilian lives and supporting the de-escalation efforts being led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He pointed out that these actions are part of the ongoing de-escalation efforts by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, with the goal of pushing the armed groups affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council to withdraw from the area and supporting local authorities in fulfilling their administrative and security responsibilities. Maliki also called on all parties to take national responsibility, exercise restraint, and actively participate in political resolution and peace efforts to maintain security and stability.
