Zhang Jianping: Hopes to develop Hainan into a headquarters base for foreign companies to expand into the Asia-Pacific and global markets.

The Sanya Economic Forum and the 5th Sanya Wealth Management Conference will be held on December 27th in Sanya, Hainan. Zhang Jianping, deputy director of the Academic Committee of the Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, said that the future pillar industries of Hainan are clear, including the development of advanced manufacturing, especially high-tech industries; the development of modern services; the development of the tourism industry; and the development of tropical characteristic and efficient agriculture. He believes that during the construction of the free trade port, domestic and foreign enterprises will accelerate their development in Hainan because they see the market growth potential, as seen in the case of Siemens' establishment. Zhang Jianping pointed out that in the next step, with the concentration of industries and talents, Hainan hopes to become a headquarters base for Chinese enterprises going global, as well as a headquarters base for foreign enterprises entering the Chinese market and expanding into the Asia-Pacific and global markets. The construction of dual headquarters bases will support the high-quality development of Hainan.
