Security situation worsens in eastern Congo, Chinese embassy warns against traveling to the region.
The Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Congo issued a security situation report on the 26th, stating that due to the continuous deterioration of the security situation in eastern Congo, frequent armed conflicts, and obvious spillover risks, Chinese citizens are advised not to travel to the eastern provinces such as North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, and Upper Wear. The report also reminds Chinese citizens not to travel to the aforementioned eastern provinces of Congo through neighboring countries such as Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, and the Central African Republic. Chinese citizens and institutions who are still staying in the relevant areas should closely monitor changes in the security situation, evaluate risks as soon as possible, and evacuate properly. The Chinese Embassy in Congo also reminds Chinese citizens and institutions in other parts of Congo to be on high alert and strengthen security precautions.
