China Merchants Bank plans to merge and absorb China Merchants Rural Bank.

On December 26th, Minsheng Bank announced that its board of directors had approved the resolution to absorb and merge Minsheng Rural Commercial Bank. The merger is subject to regulatory approval and will be implemented after approval. According to Minsheng Bank's 2025 semi-annual report, Minsheng Rural Commercial Bank is the collective name for various rural commercial banks established by Minsheng Bank as the lead initiating bank. As of the end of June, Minsheng Bank had established a total of 29 rural commercial banks with 80 business outlets, and the total assets of rural commercial banks amounted to 42.01 billion yuan. In September of this year, the Yunnan Financial Regulatory Bureau approved the dissolution of Puer Minsheng Rural Commercial Bank, reducing Minsheng Bank's affiliated rural commercial banks to 28.
